First Communion Preparation for Children
reparation for the reception of First Communion takes place in second grade. Diocesan policy requires that all students must complete one full year of religious education prior to beginning preparation for the reception of First Communion. This means students must attend Generations of Faith or other religious education classes in first grade in order to make their First Communion in second grade.
Students preparing to receive their First Communion will also prepare to receive their First Reconciliation the same year. Traditionally, students make their First Reconciliation prior to receiving their First Communion.
